Chestnut "Stone" in Porcelain
A little ode to beautiful chestnut trees, a wonderful porcelain stone for holding and admiring.
My porcelain stones are hand formed and are hollow (there is a tiny hole on the bottom), but they still have a nice heft to them and are quite sturdy. This one has been coated in black underglaze and then sgraffito decorated with a chestnut leaf design. Clear glaze with a buffed matte porcelain on the very bottom. A pleasure to hold.
I have long admired chestnut trees, especially on wonderful trips to Europe. Their North Carolina cousins the buckeye have similar leaves and I adore them as well.
Stone is approximately 3.25 by 3.75 inches
